Kenya & Uganda, Africa

In October of 2016, Run4Water conducted a survey trip in Uganda and Kenya to explore whether the organization had the necessary skills and resources to offer aid for those in need.  This was one of the most emotional ministry experiences for our team to date.  Not only did we confirm that Run4Water has the needed skills to help, we were able to begin the work during the survey trip.

Run4Water is blessed to begin a partnership with the areas visited.  This ministry includes wells, pumps, and tools to repair wells that are in disrepair.  The team was also able to bring water and functional footwear to a leper colony.  There will be a follow up trip in March of 2017.

This March, we launched our women's ministry "84 DAYS" in several villages in Kenya & Uganda. 84 days is the average number of days girls and young women miss school/work due to a lack of feminine hygiene products. We hope to provide reusable and sanitary products for the women in the villages we work with. Several of our young female volunteers are heading up this ministry and we are excited to see the results! We have sold tee shirts and stickers, designed by the girls in the Friendship Christian School’s mission class, to raise funds for supplies. This is a new ministry and we ask for your prayers and donations was we embark in this new journey!
These women are the embodiment of the water crisis. They sacrifice education, safety, and health to draw water from an unclean source.
Many children drink water drawn from contaminated sources.
Men working to prepare their well with the tools Run4Water was able to provide.
Many organizations dig wells, but that is a small piece of the puzzle. Organizations must make these water solutions sustainable by educating villagers and empowering them to maintain their wells.
Specialized tools along with the skills to repair wells are necessary components to sustainability.
Run4Water believes that organizations must make commitments to educate and maintain relationships to ensure that the wells continue to be operational.
Relationships are essential in providing water solutions. We want to unite communities around the living water, not divide them.
An unexpected ministry developed when Greg realized his TEVA sandals were perfect for the misshapen feet of his new leper friends.
Sharing the love of God with children is always a highlight of ministry wherever we go.
