Zitácuaro, officially known as Heroica Zitácuaro, is a city in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The city is the administrative center for the surrounding municipality of the same name, which lies at the extreme eastern side of Michoacán and borders on the adjacent state of México. The water ministry in Zitácuaro highlights the intersection of the humanitarian and environmental water crisis. We are committed to helping the locals on the mountain of Cerro Pelon and other sanctuary sites, while also reforesting the land so that Monarch Butterflies can once again thrive. Our work also extends to providing the 84 Days feminine hygiene kits to women and school-aged girls to reduce barriers to opportunities (education and work) because of period poverty.
